The Kamuchini wet mill lies on the slopes of Mt Kenya and was constructed in 1987. Part of the Ruthaka Co-op and certified Fair Trade, the mill employs 9 permanent staff. Working with 480 active farmers with an average of 200 trees per farm, Kamuchini presents a unique cup profile.
Mukurweini is located on the southwest slopes of Mt. Kenya, and used to be considered part of the better recognized Nyeri district. Built in 1987, the wet mill processes the coffee for 564 members of the Ruthaka FCS Cooperative, of which almost 34% are women. Each farmer has a small plot of land, averaging 1.5 acres or about 200 coffee trees. The coffee cherry harvested by the co-op members is delivered to the Kamuchuni wet mill daily
