Ngunguru is part of the Tekangu Farmers Cooperative Society and is located in Nyeri in Central Kenya. Nyeri is known for coffees with intense, complex and flavor-dense cup profiles and probably most famed for the elusive blackcurrant flavors.

Tekangu is made up of mainly smallholder farms, each with some 100 trees. They are organized in Cooperative Societies that act as umbrella organizations for the factories (wet mills), where the smallholders deliver their coffee cherries for processing. The annual average rainfall in the area is 1200 mm. The temperatures are mainly between 15 and 25 Celsius. The soil around Mount Kenya is rich and volcanic, mainly Nitisol. Nitisols occur in highlands and on volcanic steep slopes. They are developed from volcanic rocks and have better chemical and physical properties than other tropical soils.

Peru Huabal Lot 2

Green Grapes, Guava, Cane Sugar Huabal is made up of several coffee-producing villages, with each producer specialising in one village. The altitude of production in the region ranges from 1200 to 2100 metres. The region is spread over several mountains, and as a result, the climate and soil conditions can vary greatly. Some areas are wet, moist, and red (similar to African soil), while others are dry and hot. Therefore, the region holds great potential for producing coffee with rich, delicious, and fruity in flavour. This lot from Huabal was grown, processed, and dried by producers at an altitude above 1800 meters. Many growers in northern Peru own their own washing stations and depulping machines for extracting coffee fruit. These machines are used by producers to process the coffee, which is then dried on African style raised beds or on their verandas. The dried coffee is then transported to the Falcon Peru warehouse in Jaén for quality control, where moisture and density values are recorded, and the coffee is roasted, tasted and scored. Honduras El Retono

Berries, Orange Zest, Floral Suyapa is from the department of La Paz and found love in José Luis Suazo Rodriguez of the village La Laguna, San Sebastián in the department of Comayagua where she now has her farm called El Retoño in honor of his young son Luis. El Retoño farma is located an altitude of 1780 meters above sea level, the variety grown is Catuai. Suyapa says that despite being the coffee production with a variety susceptible to diseases and pests, you can get a quality coffee with much care and attention, but overall taking advance of the excellent height. The farm belonged to the mother of her husband, who decided to give them the management to support his young family. With the passing of the years bought other plots have been planting some more coffee. Through of IHCAFE, she got technical assistance and now uses soil analysis to determine the nutritional needs of the crop; usually it makes two fertilizations and keeps the farm clean and free of pests and diseases. She dreams of improving her farm and milling station to continue producing specialty coffee to help her in consolidating in the international market.
